Abstract
en este artículo se interpretan las representaciones de violencia y neoliberalismo en tres novelas centroamericanas: Baile con serpientes (1996) del salvadoreño Horacio Castellanos Moya, Los jueces (2009) del guatemalteco Arnoldo Gálvez y Los días y los muertos (2016) del hondureño Giovanni Rodríguez. Desde una comprensión del texto literario como acto socialmente simbólico en el que se expresan los grandes discursos colectivos y de clase, interesa mostrar cómo estas obras construyen una contracara a la promesa de desarrollo del neoliberalismo en cuanto a que el libre mercado traería un derrame de riqueza, prosperidad social y una paz política. A través de un análisis situado de los contenidos de las publicaciones en sus correspondientes momentos históricos del desarrollo neoliberal en la región, argumento que manifiestan un malestar relacionado con un momento particular del desarrollo del neoliberalismo y su imaginario.
