Abstract
La complejidad del proceso de integración de la Comunidad Andina (CAN) con la Unión Europea (UE) es el principal tema que se analiza en este artículo, particularmente desde la postura de Ecuador. La integración andina ha enfrentado diversas dificultades a lo largo de su historia, debido a divergencias de carácter político entre sus miembros. Esto ha hecho que sus objetivos se hayan cumplido parcialmente y que en varios temas cruciales no exista una postura común. Colombia y Perú han negociado de manera independiente con terceras partes, particularmente con la UE. Bolivia y Ecuador han manifestado su desacuerdo ante sus socios andinos y ante la UE sobre las negociaciones de libre comercio.
